James Taylor
James Taylor has long been thought of as the quintessential "singer-songwriter" and for his current "One Man Band" tour he's stripped his art back to its essence. Basically, it's one man and his guitar singing his own songs. But what songs they are.
There are still people, no doubt, who think that he's only about Fire And Rain and Sweet Baby James. But, like a lot of the pop artists of his generation who somehow managed to sidestep the creeping corporation of popular music that began to take hold in the late seventies, some of Taylor's best songs have been the ones that came later, from Shower The People and Secret O' Life to Copperline and Mean Old Man.
